After an apprenticeship learning journalism at a German newspaper, she studied Italian, Spanish and German literature in Florence, Madrid, and Hamburg. Silke worked for several radio stations in northern Germany as well as for the magazine BUNTE. Since having children she writes books and works as an author for BRIGITTE, STERN, Berliner Tagesspiegel, FAZ, Elle Decoration, Swiss “DU” (culture magazine) and more. She first became connected to Tokyo in 2004, and speaks English, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, and German.
