Power up with Brain Udon and kale biscuits

Just in time for exam season (or Brain Trainer practice), packaged food company Sugakiya has introduced “Brain Udon,” an udon noodle set designed to improve brain function. Not only are the fresh noodles fortified with vitamin B1, the deep fried tofu is colored an auspicious red and white for extra encouragement during exams. Of course students aren’t the only ones in need of a brain boost, though they might be the most appreciative of the very reasonable 189¥ price. And at only 259 calories a serving Brain Udon seems legitimately healthy.

On the subject of health, these grab-n-go “Blue Juicebiscuits by health product company Galenus are choc-a-block with vitamins (from A to E, hitting several of the Bs along the way) and a plethora of other important things like niacin and folic acids. The “blue juice” in the name is a trendy health supplement made from kale. These biscuits are sold alongside other supplements (for only 40¥ a serving) as an alternative to eating something that actually tastes like kale and for pre-packaged kale biscuits, they don’t even taste that bad.
