Tokyo Scout vs Trend Scout

Written by: Sven Kilian on June 21, 2006 at 11:44 pm | In Fashion & Lifestyle Trends |

The first times I used my name card in Japan with the title “Trend Scout” I got quite funny looks from the people I gave it to. Although I soon realized what a “Scout” in Tokyo is actually doing (handing out name cards to attract the girlies to discos, clubs, events etc.), I never really spoke to one. So the other day I had a little talk with the guy below. It took us some warming-up time but then he opened up a bit, let me take a shot, told me about the club he works for (atom)…when we finished he continued instructing his litlle crew of necomer helpers how to do the job and be as insisting as possible. I always really admire people having such a power of pursuit and always wonder how the girls can still listen to all this insistency while walking along the street…have to talk to one of them next time, i guess…
