Tokyo Tower 2007 and Ferris Wheel models from Sega Toys
Written by: Michael Keferl on August 13, 2007 at 1:06 pm | In Technology & Gadget Trends |Is Sega Toys building a miniature Tokyo? They’ve just released the Tokyo Tower 2007, a 1/500 scale model of the real deal, complete with working lights. The four-color LED lights change randomly and have a “candle effect” using an internal wind sensor which makes them flicker and go out when you blow on them.

At the Tokyo Toy Show we were able to look at the next item in a potential series of miniature Tokyo toys. This Ferris Wheel doesn’t have a name yet, but is a working model and lights up in patterns just like what you’d see at night in places like Odaiba.

Below is a video we made at the Toy Show, highlighting both the Tokyo Tower 2007 and the Ferris Wheel.
This may be a sign of Sega Toys making even more miniature Tokyo models, but it remains to be seen. The Tokyo Tower is already available (below), and the Ferris Wheel is anticipated for next year. A miniature Shibuya, complete with video screens, would definitely be our next request.
