Tokyo Wave Pool makes…a commotion
Written by: Michael Keferl on August 27, 2007 at 3:58 pm | In Press coverage |Last week, we posted a photo and video of a wave pool here in Tokyo that got a bit of attention. Besides effectively multiplying our web traffic by a gazillion and requiring a new server purchase, we managed to have the top video on the Internet for several days, and stayed in the top five for over a week!

As of this posting, there are over 600k views on Yahoo Video (after being featured on the homepage) and about 1.2 MILLION on YouTube. Add this to the great coverage we’ve gotten from G4’s Attack of the Show, former Rocketboomer Amanda Congdon’s ABC videoblog, and uncountable references all over the Intertubes from BoingBoing to Neatorama, and we’ve got ourselves a virus.

This Tuesday at 9:00 pm EST, Tokyo Wave Pool will be featured on ABC’s new show i-CAUGHT, a primetime roundup of the best videos on the net. Being in Japan, we’ve never actually seen the show, so feel free to comment away as to whether it does the video justice or not.
Either way, thanks for watching, and take this as your warning to stay the heck out of Tokyo pools during the O-bon holiday week.
**UPDATE**
It seems CNN got in on the action as well, though we would have appreciated a heads-up:
