Trends in Japan - Kawaii (Cute) robots and drinks

Written by: Sven Kilian on April 14, 2006 at 2:07 am | In Marketing & Ad Trends |

Robots in Japan are not something to fear, also they are not the servants of our human race. Robots are cute and going to live together in harmony with the human race, as a part of the family. No joke !!!
Learning this it is no wonder to see an increasing amount of robots being used in Marketing. Whereas it used to be only the big high tech corps showing off like Honda with Asimo, Sony with Aibo or Mistubishi with the family robot Wakamaru, now the other industries want a cake of this exposure as well. Only a few weeks after Asahi has started a campaign with a beer serving robot, Pepsi followed with the “Nex Boy” introducing a new bottle design and drink. Well, basically it tastes the same as Diet Pepsi Twist…but as you notice the campaign definitely worked on me…
