QR-Codes are featured everywhere in Japan, they have become an integral part of Marketing and Shopping. It is not just a test application anymore but has been long approved and become a must-have feature in mobile handsets. The whole handset making industry has adapted it as a standard. With the integrated reader software mobile phone cameras become barcode readers that will, after taking a shot of the QR Code, translate the code into a website or information that is displayed on the phone. Thus the user can easily click the link without having to type a mobile website. Campaigns, name cards, shopping catalogues, train schedules and much more features and sevices take advantages of this technology. Below some recent pictures of a branded kiosk at Shibuya station featuring a QR code campaign for a coffe with one of Japan`s most popular baseball stars.
